How to start training with an electronic collar

You have purchased an electronic collar from the Martin System® brand. This collar, unlike any other on the market, has patented technologies necessary for training with the NePoPo® system.

No other electronic collar brand possesses these technologies, making it impossible to apply them within the NePoPo® system.

Unboxing and Self-Testing:

After unboxing, spend some time playing with the collar, testing its functionalities like turning it on and off, exploring the controller functions, and settings in the Doggify application, etc. Only through testing will you fully understand its capabilities.

Once you feel comfortable, set the collar to level 1, continuous stimulation (a straight line without auditory alert). Place the collar on your wrist and press the stimulation button (don't worry, you won't feel the impulse), then try levels 2, 3, 4 until you sense the impulse. Most people feel it at level 4. You'll feel a tingling sensation.

Indeed, modern electronic collars don't provide the dog with any electrical impulse passing through their body, but rather induce a tingling sensation between the collar's contacts.

Conditioning Low Electronic Impulses:

Communication or explanatory stimulation will be at level 3. Yes, that level that most of you didn't even feel. How do we handle this impulse and explain it to the dog?

We'll use classic conditioning and condition this electronic impulse as a reward with this sequence: impulse level 3 > 1.6s pause > reward. Repeat this twice daily for a week. The dog will love the low electronic impulse!

Implementing Electronic Impulses into Training:

Now, with every command, momentarily press the conditioned level 3 impulse. Therefore, we'll associate the command with the learned electronic communication impulse.

At the same time, maintain the conditioned level 3 impulse when the dog performs the desired and previously learned behavior joyfully.

Yes, we won't use the electronic collar when the dog isn't doing anything. Instead, we'll add the pre-conditioned level 3 impulse into the training when the dog is performing the desired behavior. In modern training, the electronic collar serves to reinforce desired behavior, not to punish undesired behavior. Repeat this process daily for at least a week for the specific training.

Introducing Corrections to the Dog:

Thanks to prior education, we've taught the dog what the low electronic impulse means in a specific behavior, into which we've gradually implemented it. This gives us the opportunity to use the same impulse - level 3 - as a so-called correction now.

So, when the dog doesn't perform the desired behavior after a command, hold level 3 until the dog changes its behavior to the desired one. Release the level 3 impulse at that moment. This was a correction that the dog understands because we've explained it.

As the difficulty of the situation increases, it might be necessary to increase the level of correction. Note: proper education and the dog's experience from training are again crucial.

Call a Dog Trainer:

Modern training with an electronic collar is certainly not an easy task and requires knowledge and experience. The aforementioned procedure is very general and only provides an initial insight into electronic collar training.
